Bittner, 72, of Corriganville, died January 31, 1983, at Lions Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, Maryland, where he had been a patient for one month. He was born in Sand Patch, and was a son of the late Garfield Bittner and Lucy (Blank) Bittner. He was a self-employed certified electrician and was a registered service technician for the Ford Motor Company. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas. He is survived by his widow, Iva (Teter) Bittner; two sons, C. Steven Bittner of Laurel, and W. Wayne Bittner of Newton, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. Alberta Uhl, LaVale, and Mrs. Cleda Sturtz, Wellersburg, and two grandchildren. Friends were received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence where services were conducted with Father John J. Mackey and the Rev. Dennis E. Dorsch officiating.
