  JOHN H. BOCKES
  
    John H. Bockes, 79, of Somerset RD 1, died Aug. 20, 1,74, in
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Dec. 14, 1894, in Somerset County,
  he was a son of Henry and Elizabeth Gnagey Bockes.  He was preceded in
  death by two children.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Martha Johnson; three daughters,
  Clova, wife of McGriff Weiss of Somerset; Evelyn, wife of Joe Lafferty
  of Somerset RD 1; and Shirley, wife of Fred Dills of Franklin, N.C.;
  also 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
    He was a brother of Daniel Bockes of Garrett RD 1; Mrs. Dale
  Walker, Berlin; Mrs. Goulda Shaffer, Somerset RD 6; Mrs. Susan Ohler,
  Meyersdale RD 2; Mrs. Edna Smith, Gainesville, Fla.; and Mrs. Mae
  Leslie, of Orlando, Fla.
    Funeral service was conducted Thursday afternoon, Aug. 22 in Robert
  H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, with Rev. H. Donald Lash
  officiating.  Interment in Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
