Brant, 70, of Berlin, died July 4, 1989, at the Somerset Hospital. Born Dec. 2, 1918, in Somerset, son of the late George and Hattie (Berkley) Brant. Preceded in death by six brothers. Survived by one son, Jack, of California; and a close friend, Dorothy Felton of Berlin; also three grandchildren. Brother of: Ernest and Jay, both of Dearborn, Mich.; George Jr. and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Aultz, both of Friedens; Mrs. Margaret Fisher of Somerset RD 5; Mrs. Jehu (Cleo) Barclay and Billy, both of Somerset; Ray of Boswell; and Mrs. Ernest (Maryetta) Brant of Berlin RD 4. He was a member of the Last Man's Club of the Berlin Veteran's Association; Somerset V.F.W.; Berlin American Legion; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Somerset; and Loyal Order of Moose, No. 2252, of Somerset. World War II veteran of U.S. Army serving in European, African and Middle Eastern campaigns where he was awarded five Bronze Stars. Member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset; and retired lineman for Penelec. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Douglas Rehberg officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
