Brant, 89, of Berlin, died April 18, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 7, 1913 in Beachdale, the son of William (Fred) and Pearl (Beachley) Brant. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Fred and Javis Brant. Survived by his wife of 38 years, Phyllis Horning Brant; brothers and sisters, Rupple, Somerset, Pauline Hoffman, Somerset, Woodrow and his wife Blanche, New Mexico, Lucy Brant, Berlin, Lawrence and his wife Hazel, Beachdale, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member, former Trustee and Sunday school teacher of the Beachdale Church of the Brethren and attended their bible study and Men's Group. Served on the Beachdale Cemetery Association board. Member of Ironworkers Union Local 17, Cleveland, Ohio. Was a volunteer worker at Camp Harmony and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Larry Black officiating.
