Born March 27, 1903 in Fayette County, she was the daughter of Frank and Marie (Spider) Beneck. Preceded in death by her husband, Clark J.; a sister, Helen Pisarck; brother, Tom Strelko; and a grandson. Survived by these children: Edward E., married to the former Jacqueline Winters, Jennerstown; Edna, Quecreek; and Mrs. Ray E. (Marie) Beisteo, Somerset RD 1; Betty, wife of Robert Tressler, Stoystown RD 1; and Dorothy, wife of Playford Turney, Somerset RD 7; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also survived by these brothers and sisters: Frank Benko, Friedens; John and Peter Strelko, both of Stoystown; and Anna Mezach, Lubbock, Texas. She was a member of Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church. A retired practical nurse, she had worked at Somerset State Hospital, Siemon's Nursing Home and Maple Mountain Manor. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday) at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral services 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor George Walton officiating. Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. The body will lie in state in the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church, skilled nursing or Somerset Hospice.
