Ankeny Brown, 90, of Upper Arlington, Ohio died Jan. 2, 2001 at Mill Run Care Center. Born April 23, 1910 in Jenner Crossroads, the daughter of Clarence and Fannie Ankeny. She was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters. She is survived by her children, Richard (Lynne) Brown, Joyce Brown, and James (Susie) Brown; grandchildren Keith (Christine) Brown, Kevin (Stacy) Brown, and Teresa (Patrick) Hodges, Julie (Brian) Scanlon; great-grandchildren, Briana, Brandon, Alexis, Zachariah, Jordan, Elijah and Kane; nieces and nephews, Janet Swank, Larry (Evelyn) Miller, and Dean (Ruth) Ankeny. She received a bachelor's degree from Capital University and taught in Pennsylvania, California and Ohio. She retired after 25 years of teaching in Columbus Public Schools. She was a member of Growing Faith Fellowship Church. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Pastors Richard Brown and Kevin Brown officiating. Entombment Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Growing Faith Fellowship Church Missionary Fund, 2125 West Fifth Ave., Columbus, Ohio, 43212 in her memory.
