Christner, 47, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Garrett, died July 24, 1978 in Veteran's Hospital Little Rock. Born August 31, 1930 in Garrett, he was the son of the late Jacob Christner and Edna (Haer) Christner of Friedens. He is survived by widow, Paula Christner of Little Rock. He was a brother of Harold, Thomas and Mack, all of Garrett; Mrs. Cloyd (Hazel) Hoover, Markleton; Mrs. Howard (Miriam) Stephens, Somerset; Mrs. Glenn (Barbara) Meyers, Meyersdale; Mrs. Frank (Arlene) Houston, Chardon, Ohio; Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Stoner, Murraysville; Mrs. Barry (Mary) Hanks, Friedens. He was a career veteran of U.S. Air Force and a member of VFW and American Legion in Somerset. Family received friends at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains were removed to Garrett Lutheran Church to lie in state until services at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Jason Stanton officiating. Interment, Garrett Cemetery. The Republic, July 27, 1978 [C0423]
