CRITCHFIELD, 68 year old Harrisburg merchant, a brother of J. C. Critchfield of West Main Street died Thursday of last week in a Harrisburg hospital where he had been a patient of the past six months. For many years Mr. Critchfield was engaged as a merchant I Harrisburg, his business transactions being mainly that of selling adding machines and typewriters. About a year ago Mr. Critchfield suffered a stroke and continued to remain in poor health until his demise last Thursday caused by a complication of diseases. The deceased was the oldest son of the late Jacob and Louise (Critchfield) Critchfield, former residents. Surviving are his widow, Lillian (Wiltrout) Critchfield and two daughters, Mrs. Richard Cooper of Harrisburg and Mrs. Don Nissley of Bethlehem. Three brothers and three sisters also survive: James D., York Pa; J. Clarence, of Rockwood; Norman B., New York City; Mrs. R. R. Souser, York, PA; Mrs. Ross Coleman, Somerset and Mrs. Allen Myers of Wichita, Kansas. One grandchild also survives. His parents and one brother preceded him in death. Interment was made in the Oberlin cemetery at Harrisburg. April 28 1944
