Custer" Aged 85 years, died Saturday at the home of his son-in-law, John Horner, of Salix. Death was due to general debility. Mr. Custer served with distinction in the Civil War. He was a member of Co. I. Fifty-fourth. His widow resides in Scalp Level and two sons are Daniel J., of Windber, and Cemiah, of Richland Township. Four daughters - Mrs. Elias Shaffer, of Hooversville, Mrs. J. B. Horner, of Salix, and the Mesdames Peter Hoffman and Jerome Fyock, of Paint Borough are living. John Custer, of Roxbury is a surviving brother and Mrs. Hannah Seese, of Hooversville is a surviving sister. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Scalp Level Dunkard Church.
