"Taz" Delorey, 86 Bedford Street, Jenners, died May 20, 2002, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 25, 1915, in Windber. Son of William J. and Delia (McDonald) Delorey. Preceded in death by parents and sisters Martha Delorey and Josephine Montgomery. Survived by a niece Jean Montgomery of Confluence and daughter Jojean, married to Dale Bartos, Westlake Village, Calif., and grandsons Ben and Nathan Bartos. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, VFW, Somerset County Oldtimers Baseball Association, Jenner Rod and Gun Club, and the UMWA. A U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, having served with the 5th division during the Battle of Iwo Jima. Former coal miner, construction worker and Jenner Township supervisor. Remembered most for his generosity and sense of humor. Friends received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell where vigil for the deceased will be held 6 p.m. Thursday.
