Dunton, 72 of Graysville RD 1 died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 1999 in Washington Hospital, Washington PA. He was born May 23, 1926, in Cambridge Springs, a son of Elmer Kenneth and Perces Mary Millett Dunton and has been a resident of the Graysville area since 1993. Mr. Dunton was a member of the Fairview United Methodist church. He was a veteran of World War 2 serving with the U.S. Navy as a coxswain and received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, World War 2 Victory Ribbon, The Philippines Liberation Ribbon and a Commendation Ribbon. Mr. Dunton was a former employee of Beth Steel in Baltimore, Md. and from 1956 until 1974 he served with the Maryland State Police Criminal Investigation Division as a corporal, and for approximately 11 years he was employed as a maintenance superintendent with National Development Company at Coleman Towers in Somerset and was last employed as a security guard at Baily Mine. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Stewart Dunton whom he married July 29, 1946; three sons, Craig M. Dunton of Lake Wales, Fla., Kevin I. Dunton, of Baltimore, Md. and Brian T. Dunton of Somerset; two sisters, Anne M. Long of Greenville and Janet M. Jones of Meadville; three brothers, Ernest B. Dunton of Saegertown, Donald J. Dunton, of Waynesburg and Eugene Dunton of Clairmont, N.C., five grand-children, Creaig Dunton, Eric Dunton, Elizabeth Dunton, Joseph Dunton and Danel Dunton, several nieces and nephews. Deceased are: one brother, Ralph A. Dunton and one sister, Pauline J. Dunton. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Rush Funeral Home Inc. Rogersville, PA. where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Calvin Linderman officiating. Interment in Rosemont Cemetery.
