DURST The body of Pfc. Edgar R. Durst, 22, Meyersdale, killed in action near Florence, Italy, October 10, 1944, was returned to this country and laid to final rest in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C., on December 3. He was born August 8, 1922, in Elk Lick Township, the son of Emory E. and Ida Durst, now living on RD 3, Meyersdale. He entered the service in December 1942, and received his basic training at Camp Howse, Tex. He went overseas in May 1944. Surviving besides his parents are two brothers, Emerson Durst, Garrett, and Ivan Durst, at home, and also his grandmother, Mrs. Joe Durst of Accident, Md. His father and two brothers attended the funeral services in Arlington Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, December 16, 1948
