Durst, 61, died Aug. 21, 1980, in the Baltimore Cancer Research Center, University Hospital, Baltimore, Md. He was born in Grantsville, Md. and was the son of the late Richard A. and Nettie (Spiker) Durst. He was employed at the Flushing Shirt Factory. He was a member of the Laughlin Church of the Brethren and was a veteran of World War II, having served in three campaigns in the European Theatre. He is survived by his widow, Carrie (Hutzel) Durst; three sons, Ronal R. Durst and Paul D. Durst, both of Grantsville; and Gregory D. Durst, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Rhea Broadwater, Grantsville; one brother, Woodrow Durst, Grantsville, and seven grandchildren. Services were conducted in the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, by the Rev. John Moyers and the Rev. James Deremer. Interment will be in Grantsville Cemetery. Military rites were accorded at graveside by Grantsville Post 214, American Legion. The Republic, August 28, 1980 [DO1106]
