Eckley, 78, of Friedens RD 2, died Jan. 13, 1986, in Siemon Lakeview Manor, Somerset. Born June 7, 1907, in Howard, son of the late John R. and Lydia (Heaton) Eckley. Also preceded in deaht by four brothers and four sisters. Survived by his wife of 45 years, the former Julia Hensel; son, Ralph H., married to Alice Lepley of Woodbrige, Va.; three grandsons and one great granddaughter. He was a brother of William of Pleasant Gap and Mrs. Ruth Reeder of Paterson, NJ. Retired US Army master sergeant having served in the 29th Infantry Division in World War II. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church; Stoystown Lions Club; F & AM Lodge No. 350, Quantico, Va.; Alexandria, Va., Scottish Rite; Acca Shrine Temple, Richmond, Va.; VFW Post 554, Somerset; and LOOM No 206, Bellefonte. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be held at 11 am Friday with the Rev. James R. Ling officiating. Interment, Friedens Lutheran Cemetery. Lions memorial service at 8pm Thursday. If friends desire, instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
