FELD Death of Head of Half Price Chain Stores, F. H. Feld The Half Price Store here was closed Saturday evening and all day Monday due to the death of the head of the firm, F. H. Feld, of Oakland, Md. who passed away in the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Saturday afternoon, Dec. 2, after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted in Baltimore on Monday afternoon. Mr. Feld was owner of the chain of department stores known as the Half Price Stores, operating nine stores, seven of which are in West Virginia, one in Oakland, Md., and one in Meyersdale. Co-owner of the business is his son, Lt. Irvin Feld, serving with the armed forces in New Guinea at the present time. Mr. Feld is also survived by his wife and by one daughter, Leona, at home. The stores will continue under their local managers, with headquarters in Oakland, Md., for the time being, or until the return of Lt. Feld from overseas. Meyersdale Republican, December 7, 1944
