All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ ISABELLE FICK Mrs. Isabelle Fick, wife of John Fick, died Friday in the Miners' Hospital, Frostburg, where she was taken about two weeks after she had suffered a stroke. She was born in Sheffield, England, in 1874. Her parents, Fred and Ellen (Cartwright) Diskenson, brought her to this country in 1884, settling in Pittsburgh. There she met and married John Fick, in 1893, moving with him to Confluence in 1894, where they went into the butcher business. Two children, Ethel at the age of 12, and Margaret less than a year old, preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Irvin Hershberger, and two grandchildren, Meta Hershberger and John C. Younkin. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Black Funeral Home, with Rev. J. V. Guss of the Lutheran Church officiating. Interment was made in the Addison Cemetery.
