Born Sept. 12, 1918 in Somerset. He was the son of James Roy and Oma Mae (Fisher) Fike. Preceded in death by parents, wife Virginia Violet (Golihew) Fike, who died June 17, 2000 and sister Vallie Mostoller. Survived by children, Mrs. Hammond (Carol) Jones of Lakeland, Fla., James P. Fike of Atoka, Okla., Robert F. Fike of Dallas, Texas, John E. Fike of Greenbelt, Md., and Oran P. Fike of Sparta, Tenn. Also 12 grandchildren. Brother of Foster T. Fike of Somerset, Mrs. Imogene "Jean" Queer of Somerset and Robert E. Fike of Madison, Ohio. He was a member of the First Christian Church and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired general foreman from the Maryland National Parks and Planning Commission. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset where service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. Pastor Daniel F.
