Lincoln Forney, 80, of Berlin, son of the late Franklin and Mary Musser Forney, died in the West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, September 28, at 9 a.m. He was a native of Berlin, employed by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Co., since boyhood, until his retirement 15 years ago. Most of his life was spent in Somerset County, except about 17 years which he lived in New Castle. Upon his retirement he made his home with his son, Dr. Harry R. Forney, who is now Lieut. Col. Forney serving in the 157th Station Hospital in England. His wife, Ellen Dively Forney preceded him in death in December 1928. He was the grandfather of Lt. James C. Forney who was killed when his plane crashed over the Azores Islands, Aug. 9, 1944. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Fred Cole, Butler, a son, Lieut. Col. Harry R. Forney in England, and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Buckman and Mrs. Annie Nicholson, both of Berlin. The body was taken to the Johnson Funeral Home where the funeral service took place at 4 p.m., Sunday. Interment was made in the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with Rev. Robert S. Nagle, officiating.
