Paul E. Forrest, whose body arrived here today (Thursday) will be conducted in the Konhaus Funeral Chapel at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. He was reported missing in action Jan. 11, 1945, and a few weeks later confirmation of his death in action was received by his family here. He entered the service July 9, 1943, trained at Camp Croft, S.C., and Fort Meade, Md., went overseas in Feb. 1944, served with the Infantry in the 7th Army. He fought in Italy, France and Germany, and at the time he was killed, had been pushed back into France. While in Italy he was awarded the Infantrymen's Combat Badge. He was born in Meyersdale March 16, 1924, a son of Moses and Sarah Ellen (Albright) Forrest. His mother died July 28, 1944, while Paul was overseas. In addition to his father, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lee Imler and Mrs. George Rhoten, both of Meyersdale, and a brother, Leonard Forrest, of Somerset, the latter a veteran of Philippine service. Reburial will be made in Union Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by members of the local posts of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Pfc. Forrest was formerly buried in Epinal Cemetery in Southern France. Meyersdale Republican, August 5, 1948
