Fortney, 86, of Confluence RD 1, died Dec. 10, 1985, at home. Born Aug. 20, 1899 in Confluence, a son of the late William B. and Kathryn (Reid) Fortney. Survived by two sisters: Helen Dunlap, Conneaut, Ohio; and Janet Mitchell, Tacoma Park, Md. Preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He was a jeweler for many years in Confluence. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge of Masontown, member of the Shrine Syria Temple of Pittsburgh, a 60-year member of the Confluence I.O.O.F. Lodge and a life-long member of the Confluence United Methodist Church. Friends will be received 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., Dr. Arthur J. Gotjen officiating. Interment, Turkeyfoot Valley Baptist Cemetery. A masonic service will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Daily American, December 11, 1985 [F0670]
