Friedline, 88, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Aug. 23, 1997, at Winter Haven Hospital. Born Oct. 18, 1908, in Somerset. Son of the late James Van Buren and Flora M. (Kline) Friedline. Also preceded in death by sisters: Mrs. Matilda Braton and Stella Werner, and brother, Paul R. Friedline. Survived by wife, the former Ada Mae Rhodes; niece, Mrs. Betty Drouilhet, Lexington, Mass., and two nephews. Army veteran of World War II, having received the Bronze Star from Maj. Gen. Charles L. Bolte for meritorious achievement in combat. Member of the American Legion and VFW. Formerly owned and operated the Friedline Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Pa., retiring in 1975 and moving to Winter Haven, Fla. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Somerset County Memorial Park, with the Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating.
