Born Sept. 21, 1930 in Johnstown, the son of the late Jay F. and Alice (Zimmerman) Fritz. Also preceded in death by an infant sister Virginia Fritz and a brother, Harry Alvin Fritz. Survived by wife, the former Maxine Hopkins, to whom he was married 47 years; children, Kim Rene' Fritz of Somerset, Lisa Lynne, wife of Kirby Alan Gardner of Berlin, Scott Earl Fritz, married to the former Julie Ann Henry of Cartersville, Ga., Dana Jean, married to David Scott King of Johnstown, and foster daughter, Melissa Jean, married to Lee F. Dively of Confluence; five grandchildren, Michelle Lynne, Rebecca Rene' and Austin Alan Gardner, Seth Henry Fritz and Tara Jean King and step-grandson Joshua Scott King; foster grandchildren, Megan and Laura Dively and two special foster grandchildren. Brother of J. William Fritz and wife Mary of Jenner Crossroad, N. Wayne Fritz and wife Naomi of Stoystown, Richard B. Fritz and wife Joan of Friedens and Waldo F. Fritz and wife Gloria of Jenner Crossroad. Member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Owner of Somerset Refrigeration. Long-time associate of Seven Springs. Member of Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, American Legion and Somerset County Commerce. A 1950 graduate of Somerset High School and a Marine Corps. veteran serving in Korea in the 1st Marine Division. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Calvary United Methodist Church. Rev. Raymond Lyon officiating. Interment in Zion Hoffman Church Cemetery. There will be viewing at the church from noon until the time of service. Contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., 400 Luray Ave., Johnstown, Pa. 15904.
