  GLESSNER, Frederick S. 02/09/2006  The New Republic

   Fred Glessner, 78, passed away, Tuesday, January 24, 2006, after a long illness, with
  his family by his side, at his home in Ross Township, Pittsburgh.  He was born in
  Meyersdale on November 16, 1927, to Maud (Saylor) and Conrad Glessner. He was preceded in
  death by a brother, Albert C. Glessner. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia
  (Moll) Glessner. He was the father of: William A. Glessner, Susan J. Glessner, and
  Katherine Graham and the grandfather of Jack and Carly. He was a brother of Charles
  Glessner.  He was a graduate of Meyersdale High School and the University of Pittsburgh
  and Veteran of World War II. The service was held at Schellhaas Funeral Home, on Friday,
  January 27. The family suggests memorials may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church,
  920 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
