Heffley, aged 82 years, died suddenly at his home, East Main St., Berlin, Monday evening, August 28. A son of the late Jacob and Delilah (Miller) Heffley, he was born in Berlin and was a lifelong resident of his native town. He was a retired painter and decorator, and a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Alice (Altfather) Heffley and three sons - Herman of Washington, D.C.; Earle, of Chicago, Ill., and Harry, at home. An only daughter, Ruth, died a number of years ago. He left also nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a brother, J. C. Heffley of Redfield, S.D. Funeral services at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Johnson Funeral Home, Rev. Robert S. Nagle, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, August 31, 1944
