Herring, 83, died Nov. 13, 1978 in Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home in Oakland, Md. Born in Hoyes, Md., she was the daughter of the late Frank Callis and Harriet Bowman Callis. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Herring. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of Accident, Md., past president of the Accident Post 208 American Legion Auxiliary, and a cook at Friends Stockyard Restaurant. Surviving are three sons, Charles W. Herring, Hutton, Md.; Walter Herring, Baton Route [sic], La.; Frank Herring, Hutton, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Lollar, Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. Virginia Sunseri, Forrest Heights; Mrs. Alice Deal, Accident; two brothers, Ben Callis, Accident; Mason Callis, Mt. Lake Park; five sisters, Mrs. Edna Brent, McHenry, Md.; Mrs. Emma Weimer, Grantsville, Md.; Mrs. Hannah Green, Swanton, Md.; Mrs. Mary Headridge, Laurel, Mrs. Harriet Casteel, Keyser, W. Va.; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home in Grantsville. Services were conducted at the Grace Brethren Church with the Rev.
