  John William Hersh, 84, 610 Tub Mill Run Road, West Salisbury, died Dec.
  21, 2001 at Meyersdale Medical Center.  Born Feb. 13, 1917 in Berlin, son
  of the late Benjamin and Edith (Smith) Hersh.  Also preceded in death by
  one son, Ronald.  Survived by his wife, Violet M. "Bid" (Keim) Hersh;
  daughter, Virginia R. Fernandez, Tampa, Fla.; granddaughter, Susan G.
  Fleagle, Enola; grandson, John Tedrow, Tampa, Fla.  Four great-grandchildren
  and two-step great grandchildren.  Member of St. John's United Church of
  Christ, Salisbury, where he served as custodian for over nine years.  He
  was a retired carpenter for Clapper and Kolb.  Graveside and interment
  service will be at 11 a.m. May 11 at Salisbury Cemetery.  Rev. Lamar Bender
  officiating.  Immediately following the service, family and friends are
  invited to a reception at St. John's Church.  Expressions of sympathy may
  be directed to the memorial fund of St. John's Church.  Newman Funeral
  Home, Inc., Salisbury, in charge of arrangements.
