HEWITT Jefferson Philip Hewitt, 64, died at his home on Main St., on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 8:20 p.m., after an illness of three years. He was born in Elk County, Pa., March 10, 1883, a son of the late Thomas W. and Matilda (Iddings) Hewitt. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Goldie (McEntire) Hewitt, and these children: Mrs. D. L. Quinsey, Orona, Maine; Thomas W. Hewitt, Radford, Va.; Philip J. and Paul Hewitt, Georgetown, D.C.; and John S. Hewitt, at home; also by the following sisters: Mrs. Georgianna Porter, Pittsburgh; Mrs. T. A. Hutchinson, Brockway, Pa., and Mrs. Larry Welsh, Erie, Pa. Mr. Hewitt was a successful salesman and a number of years ago moved to Berlin and took over the management of the Heffley Hardware Co. Three years ago his loving residence along the Plank Road near Berlin was destroyed by fire. Since then the family has resided in Berlin. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, of Cambria Masonic Lodge, Johnstown, of the Williamsport Consistory Knights Templar, and the Berlin Volunteer Fire Co. Funeral services were held at the Johnson Funeral Home Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Ellis G. Berkey officiating. Interment in Clarion Cemetery, Clarion, Pa.
