  HILLEGASS
  
  Ernest J. Hillegass, 67, Friedens RD 2, died Feb. 11, 1986, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born March 30, 1918, in Stonycreek Township, a son of
  Howard J. and Etta (Miller) Hillegass.  Preceded in death by parents and
  sister.  Survived by his widow, the former Blanche Sipe.  Death ends a
  marriage union of 49 years.  Survived by these children: Robert L., married
  to the former Shirley Pebley, and Gene, married to the former Elaine Burk,
  both of Friedens RD 2; Mrs. Barry (Shelby) Bryan, Woodstock, N.Y.; and 10
  grandchildren.  Brother of Mrs. Leroy (Blanche) Landis, and Mrs. Edwin
  (Mary) Baker, both of Friedens RD 2; William, married to the former Evelyn
  Christner, Somerset; Paul, married to the former Blanche Rush, Central City
  RD 1; Mrs. Gerald (Ethel) Walker, Berlin RD 4; and Donald James, married to
  the former Hazel Brick, Friedens RD 1.  He was a retired Stonycreek
  Township Supervisor and farmer.  Member of Faith Lutheran Church and Laurel
  Ridge Sportsmen.  Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and
  from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Remains
  will be removed to Faith Lutheran Church to lie in state from 9:30 a.m.
  until service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Charles J. Hartbauer
  officiating.  Interment, Wills Cemetery.  If friends desire instead of
  flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church.
