HARVEY J. HILLEGASS

  Harvey J. Hillegass, 78, Schellsburg, R.D. 1, died May 12th, in the home of 
his daughter, Mrs. Dean Smith, with whom he lived.
  Born July 18, 1868, at Burns Mills, he was a son of William and Sarah 
(Glessner) Hillegass.  His wife, the former Alvaretta Horne, preceded him in 
death.  He was a successful farmer all his life.
  Surviving are these children: Mrs. Blair Ott, Cessna; Mrs. D. Edward Tate, 
Bedford; Mrs. Dean Smith and Carl Hillegass, New Paris.  Surviving also are nine 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also these brothers and sisters: Ross 
of Washington, D.C.; Edward of Sumter, S.C.; Reon of Norfolk, Va.; Ralph of 
Philadelphia; Mrs. Edith Horne of New Paris; Mrs. Ida Carver, Misses Minnie, 
Jesse Mae, and Sarah, all of Berlin.
  Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the family home.  Rev. 
H. T. Cover of the Bedford Methodist Church officiating.  Interment in 
Schellsburg cemetery.
