Mrs. Hillegass was aged 70 years. Her death is attributed to a complication of diseases from which she had been a sufferer for many months. She recently received treatment in the Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, but was removed to her home, later. Mrs. Hillegass was a daughter of Tobias and Catherine Glessner and for many years lived in Stonycreek Township. Some years ago the Hillegass family moved to Berlin. Mrs. Hillegass was a member of Trinity Reformed Church. She is survived by her husband, Luther J. Hillegass, and the following children: Robert, of Berlin; George, of Brothersvalley Township; Howard, Nevin and Mrs. Etta Lambert, of Stonycreek Township; Mrs. Nellie Landis, of Shanksville; Harry, of Somerset Township; Mrs. Mary Fritz, of Summit Township; John and Alvin, of Akron, Ohio; Lester, of Johnstown; and Pearle, at home. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Jacob W., of Shanksville; Joseph T., of Waterloo, Ia.; John L., of Downey; Mrs. John Lowry, of Shanksville; Mrs. Edward Boyer, of Roxbury; and Albert, of Stonycreek Township. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Hillegass home, by Rev. D. S. Stephan. Undertakers Johnson & Son had charge of the burial. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
