He was born April 26, 1942. Besides his parents he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Robert, in the U.S. Army, Jackson, Mississippi; Clark, in the Army, Camp Phillips, Kansas; Donald, Dallistown; Duane and Carl, at home; Dolores and Loretta, at home; also by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lillie Saylor, Large Street, and his paternal grandfather, Richard Horning, Meyersdale. Funeral services will be held at the home, Friday, 3:00 p.m., the Rev. Nelson Brown, pastor of the Reformed Church officiating. Burial in the Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus, mortician. The brothers, Pvt. Clark Horning and Pvt. Robert Horning received furloughs to attend their little brother's funeral. Meyersdale Republican, February 25, 1943
