Housel, 69, of Meyersdale, died March 15 at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born May 2, 1907, in Meyersdale he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Ohler) Housel. He is survived by his wife, the former Sadie Marie Christner, two sons, Peter Jr., Meyersdale RD 1, and Clyde, Sterling Park, Va.; six daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Fogle, Garrett; Mrs. Marie Mathers, Millvale, N.J.; Mrs. Betty Gnagey, Meyersdale RD 3; Mrs. Verna Mae Neidermeyer, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Doris Oester, Meyersdale RD 4; and Mrs. Anna Hamilton, Stone Mountain, Georgia; also 26 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving him are two brothers, Eugene, Hampton, Va., and George, Meyersdale RD 4; four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Ohler, Garrett RD 1; Mrs. Emma Christner, Mrs. Tillie Shuck, and Mrs. Alverta Sanner, all of Meyersdale. He was a member of the Main Street Brethren Church where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Joseph Hanna officiating. Interment, Pine Hill Cemetery. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Main Street Brethren Church.
