Howarth Sr., 83, 141 Bedford St., Jenners, died July 14, 1982, at Memorial Hospital. Born June 9, 1899, in Frostburg, Md., he was a son of John and Hylie (Winebrenner) Clark. Preceded in death by parents; stepparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Howarth; wife, the former Agnes F. Hoover, who died Sept. 23, 1959; granddaughter, Cora June Smith; four brothers, one sister, one half-brother, two half-sisters, and two stepbrothers. Survived by son F. Bernard Jr.; daughter, Ferne, wife of Harry W. Smith, both of Jenners; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was a half-brother of: Earl Eisler, Frostburg RD, Md.; Nellie Canton, La Vale, Md.; Elsie Lotz, Okeechobee, Fla.; stepbrother of: Charles Howarth, Mary Shaulis, and George Howarth, all of Glenn Rock, Pa.; Harold Howarth and Luther Howarth, both of Baltimore, Md.; James Howarth, Somerset RD; and Martha Jane Shaulis, Friedens RD. Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club, UMWA Jenner Local 1742, and retired employee of former Consolidated Coal Co., Jenners, and Boswell Lumber Co. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Cliff Wicks.
