    ELSIE M. JARVIS
  
    Elsie M. Jarvis, 80, 315 Diamond St., Berlin, died Feb. 19, 1982, at
  Somerset Community Hospital.
    She was born Nov. 27, 1901, in Berlin.  She was a daughter of William and
  Eleanora (Sarver) Thorpe.  She was preceded in death by parents; husband, A.
  Woodward Jarvis; sister Pearl Weigle; and brother, Elwood Thorpe.
    She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Edna Mae) Chalk, Berlin; two
  grandchildren, Greg Chalk, Berlin, and Gary Chalk, Garrett.  She was a
  sister of: Homer Thorpe, Dallastown; Richard Thorpe, Dayton, Ohio; and Mrs.
  Lyda Barr, Akron, Ohio.  She is also survived by these step-children: 
  Marian Jarvis and Lu Jane Bickert, both of Oakland, N.J., and Harlan
  Jarvis.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin.
    Friends were received at the Johnson - Kuhlman Funeral Home, where
  services were held with the Rev. Ralph E. Mills officating.  Inerment
  Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
