Kemp, 78, of West Sanner St., Somerset, died July 16 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1897 in Foxburg, a son of the late Charles and Dora Smith Kemp. Also preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Jane Trimpey and a brother, Charles Jr. Survived by his wife, the former Carrie Stull and these children: Mrs. William F. (Myra) Braeseker Jr. and Mrs. Robert E. (Patricia) Taylor, both of Somerset; two grandchildren; Jeffrey Braeseker and Karen Elizabeth Braeseker and two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Smith and Mrs. Beatrice Bittner both of Somerset. Member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Company "C", 110th Infantry, 28th Division. He was a former partner in the Connellsville Bottling Works and a retired employee of the Somerset State Hospital. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 with the Rev. Paul Weber officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Somerset Bulletin, July 17, 1974 [K0314]
