Kemp, 77, the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Meyersdale, died March 31, 2005, at the Altoona General Hospital. Born November 22, 1927, in Meyersdale, a son of the late Matthew and Mabel (Secrest) Kemp. Also preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Zimmerman) Kemp; and two brothers: Joe and Jerry Kemp. Survived by two sons: Kerry Lee Kemp, Meyersdale; and Marc R. Kemp, Somerset. Also eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother Jimmy Kemp, Seattle, Wash.; and a loving sister Joyce Keefe, Euclid, Ohio. John was a 50 year member of the Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Department, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at SS. Philip & James Catholic Church, Meyersdale. The Rev. James M. Dugan celebrant. Committal will follow at SS. Philip & James Cemetery, Meyersdale. Born November 22, 1927, in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Matthew and Mabel (Secrest) Kemp. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Zimmerman) Kemp; and two brothers: Joe and Jerry Kemp. He is survived by two sons: Kerry Lee Kemp, Meyersdale; and Marc R. Kemp, Somerset; also eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Kemp, Seattle, Wash.; and a loving sister, Joyce Keefe, Euclid, Ohio.
