He was born Nov. 5, 1900, in Quemahoning Township, son of Eli and Emma (Young) Kimmel. Preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Edith J. Custer; and a sister, Ellen Mock. He is survived by a son, Ernest, married to the former Wilma Frazier of Friedens RD 2; these grandchildren: Charles, married to the former Sun Strapp of Central City RD 1; and Barbara Ann of Friedens RD 2; and a great-grandson, Joseph Adam. He was a brother of Mrs. Stella Keller of Somerset. He was a former Somerset County coal miner; member of Boswell Church of God; and the U.M.W. of A. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Samuel E. Charlton officiating.
