All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ RUTH KINSLEY Somerset Girl Fatally Burned Burns suffered Sunday afternoon, December 31, when her clothing ignited from a kitchen stove, resulted in the death in Community Hospital Wednesday of Ruth Kinsley, 11-year-old West Union Street girl. Her death occurred at 2:15 a.m. The girl suffered first, second and third degree burns of the chest, legs and arms. A sleeve on her dress caught fire as she held her arms over the open fireplace of the stove. Before members of the family could go to her rescue and beat out the flames she had been badly burned about the entire body. After being treated at the office of a Somerset physician the girl was removed to Community Hospital. Ruth Kinsley was a daughter of William and Lillian (Nicholson) Kinsley and was born in Somerset. Her father died 10 years ago. Surviving are her mother and two brothers, George and Harry Kinsley, both at home. Funeral arrangements in charge of the Charles R. Hauger Funeral Home.
