  KOONTZ
  
  Gerald D. Koontz, 62, of Slacks Hill Road, Boswell RD, died Aug. 24,
  2002 at Windber Hospice.  Born May 1, 1940 in Jerome, son of Walter
  Koontz and Mae (Baughman) Koontz-Fleegle.  Preceded in death by
  parents and sister Delrita (Fleegle) Nymick.  Survived by wife, the
  former Susan M. Beener; son Deron, married to the former Penny
  Ritenour, Jennerstown; daughter Wendy, married to Kenton Kooser,
  Boswell RD; grandchildren Dean Ritenour and Courtney Koontz; brother
  Richard Koontz, married to the former Bernice Kraft, Flemington, Mo.;
  sister Ginny Fleegle and companion John Sheffler, Boswell; special
  friend Mary Reap, Jennerstown; and numerous nieces, nephews and
  in-laws.  Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church,
  Jennerstown.  A 1958 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High
  School.  Former meat cutter for Riverside Supermarkets and an avid
  hunter.  He celebrated his 38th wedding anniversary Aug. 14, 2002. 
  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman
  Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell.  Viewing also from 10 a.m. until
  the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Laurel Trinity Church. 
  Rev. Jacquelyn M. DePhillips officiating.  Interment, Mt. Zion
  Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald's name may be sent
  to Regional Hospice at Windber, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, Pa.,
