  KRETCHMAN
  
  John Tressler Kretchman, 79, Meyersdale, died March 7, 2001, at his
  residence in Summit Township.  Born Jan. 1, 1925 in Summit Township,
  a son of the late John C. and Edna (Tressler) Kretchman.  Also
  preceded in death by his sister, Margaret.  Survived by his wife of
  56 years, the former Mary Ream and these children: John R., married
  to the former Laraine Schmidt, Meyersdale; William R., married to the
  former Paula Werner, Meyersdale; James C., married to the former Karen
  Harvey, Meyersdale; Jayne E., married to Jerry L. Deal, Salisbury; and
  JoAnn, married to Dr. Charles W. Bolden, Meyersdale; also 16
  grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  A member of the Amity
  United Church of Christ, Meyersdale, and also served on numerous
  boards and committees throughout Somerset County.  John was a
  lifelong farmer and the founder and senior partner of Summit
  Technical Laboratories of Meyersdale.  A private family visitation
  and service was conducted under the direction of the Price Funeral
  Home, Meyersdale, with the Rev. Bruce Ashlock officiating.  Interment
  in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.  In lieu of flowers memorials may
  be made to the Salvation Army and to the Somerset County Childrens'
  Aid Home.
