Krevda, 73, of Gas City, Ind., died Oct. 27, 1997, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Ind. Born Jan. 13, 1924, in Harrison, Pa. The son of the late John and Mary (Buchko) Krevda. Survived by wife, the former Freda M. Housel, on Feb. 23, 1952; two sons, Dave (Peggy) Krevda of Holland, Mich., and Neil (Linda) Krevda of Carmel, Ind.; brother, Mike (Ethel) Krevda of Sharon, Pa., and two sisters, Ann Napier, Oxnard, Calif, and Margaret (Arvel) Retor of Enumclaw, Wash.; six grandchildren. Mr. Krevda was the owner and operator of Krevda Brothers Express Trucking Company of Gas City from 1956 to 1981 when he retired. He also drove buses in the early 40's for Somerset Bus Co. and American Bus Co. He received the "Mack Truck Million Mile Club" Safety Award. At the time of death, he drove cars for Mike Anderson Chevrolet of Gas City for several years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Gas City, Knights of Columbus and a 4th Degree member. Life member of Deer Creek Conservation Club. District Committee member of Boy Scouts of America for more than 20 years. Former member and past president of Kiwanis Club of Gas City. He was also active in many civic projects in the community over the years. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 325 East North A Street, Gas City. Officiating Rev. A.L. Reemer. Burial, Riverside Cemetery, Gas City. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Needham-Storey Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City.
