Light, 80, of Rector died July 22, 1996. He was born Oct. 30, 1915, in Latrobe, a son of the late Lawson E. and Fannie (Bates) Light. He was former general manager for Union Switch and Signal, former president and chairman of the board at Somerset Power Sweepers Inc., former vice president of Multi-Clean Products Inc., Somerset Division, and retired vice president H.B. Fuller Co. Member of the Pleasant Hills Masonic Lodge and active in many civic organizations in the Ligonier Valley. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Beth Virginia "Betsy" Light, in 1968; two brothers, Eugene and Dale, and a sister, Ruth Light. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Virginia Brown Light; a son, Philip B. (and his wife Gladys) of Laurel Mountain Borough; two grandsons, Christopher P. Light and Jeffrey (and his wife Joyce); a great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in McCabe Funeral Home, 244 W. Main St., Ligonier. There will be no viewing. Private service and interment will be held in Ligonier Valley Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 152 E.
