  LONG
  
  John W. Long, 87, of Berlin, died Feb. 11, 2003 at his residence. 
  Born March 25, 1915 in Brothersvalley Township, he is the son of
  Simon C. and Malinda (Brant) Long.  Preceded in death by parents;
  wife Lillian (Landis) Long; brother Simon E. Long and grandson Eric
  Cunningham.  Survived by children, John F. married to the former
  Eloise Gill; Shirley, married to Richard M. Cunningham, both of
  Berlin.  Grandchildren, David and wife Susan Long, Berlin; Debbie and
  husband Doug Lehman, Mt. Holly Springs; Kathy and husband Carl Leer,
  Sidman; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Belle Folk,
  Grantsville; Elsie Beachley, Berlin; Helen and husband Robert Brant,
  Somerset and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was a retired coal
  miner and carpet installer.  Life long member, former deacon and
  treasurer of Beachdale Church of the Brethren.  He was an avid
  hunter, enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.  Family
  will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Berlin and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11
  a.m. Friday at the Beachdale Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Larry
  Black officiating.  Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.  Memorial
  contributions may be sent to Beachdale Church of the Brethren, 803
  Owl Hollow Rd., Berlin, Pa. 15530.
