The wreckage was first discovered about 12:30 Sunday morning, when a Mr. Hewitt of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, enroute to Meyersdale, with his family, saw the car and the body of McClintock pinned in the wreckage. He notified a garage in Garrett, and in turn Dr. C. T. Saylor of Rockwood, deputy coroner, was called to the scene of the accident and found the man dead due to a skull fracture. McClintock had spent several hours Saturday night in Rockwood with his daughter, Madeline, wife of Ray Weimer, and had left there between 11:30 and midnight. State policeman, Pvt. Paul Dorsey, of the Somerset sub-station, who investigated said it was his belief that McClintock may have fallen asleep for a moment, during which time his car left the road, crashed into a tree and was wrecked with fatal effect to the driver. Mr. McClintock was married to the former Myrtle Romesburg of Berlin R.D. 1, and was the father of four children - Creed, with the Army in Georgia; Leona and Clyde Jr., at home, and Mrs. Ray Weimer of Rockwood. He formerly operated an auto repair shop and an automobile agency in Somerset. During the last two years he was employed by the Love Motor Sales Company of Latrobe. Clyde McClintock was the son of Mrs. Ida McClintock of St. Paul, Elk Lick Twp., and it is reported he was enroute to his mother's home when he met death. Funeral services were held at the decedent's home at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, after arrival of his son, Pfc. Creed McClintock from Fort McPherson, Ga. Rev. George Ely, pastor of St. Paul's (Wilhelm) Reformed Church, officiated. After the rites at the home, his body was taken to the home of his mother at St. Paul for interment in the St. Paul cemetery, Mills & Mickey, Rockwood morticians had charge of the burial arrangements. Surviving in addition to his mother, widow and four children, are one brother, Carl, of Berlin R.D. 1, and a sister, Mrs. Frederick Speicher of Akron, Ohio. Meyersdale Republican, January 31, 1946
