McKenzie, 90, died June 6, 1977, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. A native of Meyersdale RD, he was a son of the late Sampson and Barbara (Ebaugh) McKenzie. Two wives, Emma (Countryman) McKenzie and Sara (Hartle) McKenzie, preceded him in death. Owner-operator of McKenzie Company for 42 years prior to his retirement he was one of the first members of the board of directors of Meyersdale Community Hospital, a veteran of World War I, a charter member of Charles E. Kelly Post 112, American Legion and Laurel Falls Association, and a member of BPO Elks Lodge 1951 and SS. Philip and James Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Florence (Hostetler) McKenzie; two sons, James Hartle and Charles Mckenzie, Meyersdale; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Agnes Bolden, Cumberland, Md., and five grandchildren; four brothers, Simon, Leo, Edward and Robert McKenzie; two sisters Katherine McKenzie and Mrs. Rose Gates. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at SS. Philip and James Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements in charge of the Price Funeral Home.
