(Benson) McTonic, 63, Jerome Avenue, Jerome, died Jan. 14, 2001, at UPMC Lee Regional Hospice, Johnstown. Born Aug. 18, 1937, in Hollsopple, daughter of Homer Scott and Cora (Berry) Benson. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Ruby Steck and Virginia "Jean" Stevanus; and brothers-in-law: Francis Steck and James Stevanus. Survived by husband, Robert J.; son, Douglas Winning, Johnstown; daughter, Damie McTonic and fiance, Daniel Lafferty, Hollsopple; and several grandchildren, including granddaughter Laci Lanne Lafferty. Sister of: Robert married to Elizabeth Unger and Shirley Cooper, both of Jerome. Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown. Former employee of Dorfman and Hoffman Garment Factory, Jerome, and Bali Bra, Johnstown. Observed 32nd wedding anniversary Aug. 10, 2000. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main St., Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laurel Trinity Church, with the Rev. James A. McCormick Jr. officiating. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery near Jerome.
