Merrbach, 63, of Salisbury RD 1, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 1986, at his home. Born Jan. 13, 1923 in Garrett County, Md., he was a son of the late Christopher Merrbach and Mintie (Spiker) Merrbach. He was caretaker of the Salisbury-Elk Lick Cemetery; an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Salisbury American Legion and the Salisbury VFW. Surviving are his widow, Laura M. (Bittinger) Merrbach; three sons, Floyd A. Merrbach Jr., Rockwood; Dennis J. Merrbach, Somerset; Timmy L. Merrbach, Grantsville, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Slayton, Somerset, and Mrs. Gloria Knopsnyder, Salisbury RD 1, two brothers, David Merrbach, Grantsville, Md.; and Christopher Merrbach, Silver Spring, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Spiker and Mrs. Carrie Leasure, both of Grantsville, and 13 grandchildren. Friends were received at the Thomas Funeral Home where services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Richard Berkey. Interment Merrbach Cemetery, Garrett County.
