MILLER Joseph Henry Miller, retired farmer of Elk Lick Township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Jeffrey, in West Salisbury at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19th, of coronary occlusion. Mr. Miller had been ill for about a week prior to his death. He has been retired for 15 years. His wife, Mrs. Viola (Wilburn) Miller preceded him in death on March 25, 1941. He was born in Garrett County, Maryland, on November 17, 1860, son of Henry and Mary (Yoder) Miller, and was 86 years, 7 months and 2 days old at his death. In addition to his daughter, he is survived by four sons, Sherman R. Miller of Ravenna, Ohio, and Hubert E., Leonard L. and Lloyd J. Miller, all of this vicinity; a sister, Mrs. Lydia H. Bender of Scottdale, a brother, Jacob H. Miller of R.D. 1, Meyersdale, and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Miller was a member of the Salisbury Church of the Brethren. Funeral services were conducted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jeffrey at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 22nd, with his pastor, Rev. A. Jay Replogle officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, June 26, 1947
