Miner, 87, died Friday, Feb. 24, 1989 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born July 23, 1901 in Jennings, Md., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Jemima (Handwerk) Platter. A homemaker, Mrs. Miner was a member of the Bethesda Church of the Brethren, Grantsville, Md. She is survived by her husband, Victor C. Miner; three sons: Elmer Miner, Elgin, Ill.; Reed Miner and John Miner, both of Grantsville, Md.; two daughters: Melda Bittinger, Grantsville, Md.; and Anna Jean Heston, Hancock, Md.; three brothers: Austin Platter and Everett Platter, both of Grantsville, Md.; and Fenton Platter, Fincastle, Va.; two sisters, Carrie Lowery and Leafie Ohler, both of Grantsville, Md.; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where services were conducted Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Joseph Lewis. Interment, Grantsville Cemetery.
