All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ CHARLES MORRELL Charles Morrell, 72, a native of Meyersdale, the son of the late Lorren Morrell, pioneer businessman of Meyersdale, engaged in the furniture, organ and piano business, and Mrs. Annie (Custard) Morrell, died last Wednesday at his home in Washington, D.C. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Center Street Methodist Church, Cumberland, Md., by the Rev. Dr. Vernon Ridgly, pastor, with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery. His wife, Delia D. Young Morrell, sister of Mamie Young and Bernard B. Young, chief justice of the Orphans' Court of Allegany County, Maryland, preceded her husband in death. Other survivors include a son, Hay Foster Morrell, of Oklahoma; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Payne, of Washington, D.C., and two sisters, the Misses Annie and Hattie Morrell, also of Washington. For a number of years after leaving Meyersdale the deceased was associated with the firm of Morrell and Shafenberg, music dealers in Cumberland and Meyersdale. Meyersdale Republican, October 30, 1941
